A Lancaster bomber flew right over my head in Goodmayes once, those 4 Merlins in unison brought a tear to my eye

I used to love watching the Deltics as a kid roaring over the Welwyn Viaduct. Awesome machines all named after racehorses and regiments.
55007 Pinza was my favourite
These days the only good thing a train is for is getting me to and from the football so I can have a good drink.

Bollocks! I fucking love air shows and wish I went to more of them. I've been addicted to the noise a war plane makes since a Vulcan flew right over my school-class holiday trip to Swanage and made some of the girls cry.
I hardly dribble at all but I'll concede to the 'smelling of biscuits' part of your argument. And 'socially retarded?' I know YOU are but what am I? Ha!

What the fuck did Freud know about trains?
Nothing, nothing I say

Nurse, it's at times like this that Freud completely takes over your thought processes.

It's times like these I wish Freud hadn't been just a coke-added quack, and was actually on to something.

No, Deltic trains have a unique deep sound due to the cylinder arrangement, other trains have a lesser impact, it's all about engine sound
Similarly in aircraft engines, the piston engined Merlin has a similar effect

Why Deltic trains in particular? Do you not find other trains equally arousing?

I'm both a train spotter and a military airplane nerd
Deltic trains give me a proper hard on as does the English Electric fighter

I love trains also. Not a spotter taking numbers.

The only boring bits about airshows are the gaps between the plane action, and the non military stuff like the Crunchie sponsored wing walkers or something. Looking forward to Dunsfold.

Love an air show, how can a jet fighter be boring compared to a fucking train?
Thankfully the likes of eusebiovic are talking shit and there will always be airshows because it's one of the biggest past times in the UK.

Machine wise, I'm a big fan of trains but not the spotter and notebook side of it...more the engineering.
I really enjoy watching Great British Train Journeys with Michael Portillo...He's become quite tolerable in his old age with his pastel coloured linen suits...

There are even people who know how to manage and run a top flight football club better than people who actually get paid to do so.
